Qualifications & Experience

After attaining a First in my B.A. English Literature Degree at The University of Salford, I was awarded a scholarship to study an M.A. Degree in Creative Writing and I graduated with a Merit.

I also went on to study a Foundation Degree in Psychology from The Minster Centre in London. During this time, I began teaching Literature and Drama lessons for High School and College students. I loved it so much that I’ve never stopped and now I’ve been teaching English Literature and Drama for over a decade.

English Lessons

I offer one-to-one Literature and Language lessons for GCSE and A-Level student studying exam boards such as AQA, Edexcel and OCR. I also teach adult learners who are retraining to start a new career path. Each lesson is specifically tailored to each student and usually lasts one to two hours weekly.

Our English Lessons cover the folliwing:

  • Creative writing

  • Analysing prose texts

  • Analysing poetry

  • Shakespeare

  • Essay structuring, spelling, and grammar

  • Preparing presentations

  • Exam revision

  • Personal assignments or homework

  • "When we found Gabriella, we hit the jackpot."

Gabriella in my son’s words is “absolute class”. English Lit not being his strongest subject, the remit was to get him confident and GCSE ready. When we looked for a tutor I believe when we found Gabriella, we hit the jackpot. She has had a massive impact on my son’s confidence, his interest in the literature. My son really engaged with Gabriella and that’s down to her teaching methods. She really stretched his viewpoints and mind, which in the bigger scheme of things makes him more mature and willing to express things better not just in literature, but world events even. Extremely grateful to her as is my son. Couldn’t have asked for more.
